Frequently asked questions.
Everything you need to know before reaching out. If you don't see your question here, just ask.
We serve clients across St. Augustine, St. Johns County, Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville, and surrounding areas throughout Northeast Florida.
Most water feature companies install standard ponds, fountains, and off-the-shelf systems. AquaZen specializes in custom-built faux rock formations and sculpted environments, the kind of work typically seen in zoos and themed attractions. It is highly specialized, design-driven, and labor intensive, and most companies do not offer it.
Every project begins with a consultation and site walkthrough. We study the space, the surroundings, and how you want to use it. From there we develop a custom design proposal outlining layout, materials, and timeline. Once approved, we handle the full build and installation with precision and care.
Pricing varies significantly based on size, materials, and complexity. AquaZen does not compete on volume or standardized pricing. We focus on specialty craftsmanship where our skill set provides clear value. Our custom work often lands at price points below larger firms with higher overhead while maintaining a level of quality that sets our projects apart.
The best way to get accurate pricing is to schedule a consultation so we can understand the scope of your project.
Timelines vary based on project scope, but most builds take between two and six weeks from installation start to completion. Larger, more complex sculpted environments and faux rock installations can take longer. We will provide a realistic timeline during the design proposal phase.
Both. We work with homeowners, businesses, and organizations across Northeast Florida. Our clients typically value creativity, craftsmanship, and originality and are looking for something built specifically for their space rather than a catalog solution.
Most well-designed water features require minimal ongoing maintenance. Typical care includes periodic cleaning of filters, occasional water top-off, and seasonal checks on the pump and plumbing. We walk every client through a care routine specific to their installation so it continues to look and perform beautifully over time.
No. Properly designed water features have continuous circulation, which prevents the stagnant conditions mosquitoes need to breed. Moving water actually discourages mosquitoes and attracts wildlife you do want, like birds and dragonflies.
Yes. Many of our pond and water garden builds are designed as full ecosystems that support koi, goldfish, and aquatic plants. We design the filtration, aeration, and planting zones to keep the environment clean and balanced so fish and plants thrive.
We guide clients through the process and provide the documentation and renderings needed for HOA review or local permitting where applicable. The client is ultimately responsible for submitting approvals, but we make the process straightforward.
Yes. All AquaZen installations come with a workmanship warranty. We also offer ongoing service and seasonal maintenance packages for clients who prefer a hands-off approach to keeping their feature in top condition.
The first step is a conversation. Share a few details about your space, what you have in mind, and any photos that help us understand the setting. We will follow up to schedule a site visit and begin the design process.
